15/30 - Vík, Iceland
The 15/30 journey began with a landing in Keflavík, followed by a drive south toward Vík. The Icelandic landscape immediately delivered: open fields with grazing Icelandic horses, thundering waterfalls, distant glaciers, and rugged coastal stretches rolling past the windows.
We explored Reynisfjara black sand beach near Vík—its deep volcanic sand, hexagonal basalt columns, and powerful Atlantic waves making for dramatic frames. A quick detour led to the iconic abandoned DC-3 plane wreck from the 1973 U.S. Navy crash on Sólheimasandur beach, a striking relic half-buried in the black sand.

As night arrived, a fierce storm rolled in—and instead of hindering the shoot, it added raw energy. Thick clouds raced across the sky, parting just enough to reveal vivid green Northern Lights weaving through the turbulence. The combination of swirling storm clouds and glowing auroras created surreal, cinematic scenes that perfectly set the tone.
